Red Hook Studios shared some details on what we can expect from the game with PC Gamer, saying that the combat will keep the same format but be “tuned up.” The metagame will be “completely different,” however we’re leaving the village behind and we can likely expect traveling through icy passes to require a different kind of management. Red Hook released two expansion packs for Darkest Dungeon: The Crimson Court and The Color of Madness.ĭarkest Dungeon 2, however, will be a full-fledged sequel. By hiring mercenaries and heroes, the player is able to delve through those darkest dungeons and eventually unravel the mystery behind their homecoming. In Darkest Dungeon, players assume the role of someone coming home to claim their estates from a mysterious ancestor. Red Hook Studios released a short trailer announcing a sequel to Darkest Dungeon, the brutal gothic horror role-playing game from 2016.
